My Priorities

Vibrant old town
I like where we’re going, and I am interested in exploring more ways to add vibrancy to our Old Town area. Some considerations include replacing some surface parking with small businesses or multi-use structures; continuing to add art and color to our streetscapes; and exploring the closing of some streets or lanes to vehicle traffic to expand walkability.
Willard-Sherwood Center
I support moving forward with building the new Willard-Sherwood Center as I believe Fairfax City will benefit greatly from having a centrally-located health and recreation center that attracts people from the surrounding area. I also support continuing to explore how to manage operation and maintenance costs within existing and forecasted budget constraints. I appreciate the alternatives that have been explored to ensure we are making the most financially sound decision that will meet our community’s diverse needs.

Diverse and affordable housing
I support continuing to explore development options that expand various types of housing that will attract new city residents, including those with lower incomes, and offer options for current residents who are looking for a change. This can include new development as well as options such as adding Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) on existing properties.
City Council terms
I support shifting to staggered, longer terms for the six City Council seats. This helps provide stability on the Council as it minimizes how many Council Members can be brand new to the position. This in turn can help build trust in government.
